Dimitris Makrygiannakis in conversation with Maud Nycander from the Lars Tunbjörk Foundation

"Dimitris Makrygiannakis is a street photographer who goes beyond the frame. In his compositions, he finds surrealist angles, often humorous, in ordinary everyday situations. He has an astute eye and a singular style entirely of his own."

In the exhibition, Dimitris Makrygiannakis presents glimpses of the world that interests him and further delves into the possibilities of photography by creating diptychs. He seeks not only to display the events themselves but also to highlight deeper meanings that inspire the viewer to reflect.

The prize was established by the Tore G Wärenstam Foundation in Borås and is awarded in collaboration with the Lars Tunbjörk Foundation to a photographer who works in the spirit of Lars Tunbjörk.
